 Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalysis studies and aims to understand human beings by taking into consideration their entire personal development and history. The basic premise of this method is that the current state, or the potential symptomatology of the person, is closely connected with the personal, social and cultural instances that co-exist throughout their past and present. The goal of such an approach is for the person to genuinely understand own feelings, behaviors, experiences, with the possible causes and effects of those.
One of the central elements in psychoanalysis is the co-called Unconscious; it can be described as the place of one’s all (rational and irrational) wishes that, due to the internal and/or external conflicts, are actively repressed. In such a way, the repressed remains concealed from the conscious, yet can nevertheless be manifested by unwanted thoughts, actions, bodily or other pain, that is – the symptoms.
Psychoanalysis is the option of choice for the people who are willing to actively work on the issues for which they sought psychotherapy, as this form of personal work involves frequency of two or more sessions per week,(personally arranged with the respective therapist). The setting consists of 45-50 minutes long sessions, whereby the client is lying on the couch (the method of Sigmund Freud).
Languages and psychotherapists available:

German & English (Abramov, Makarova, Michelides, Milic)

                               Italian (Michelides)

 Psychoanalytically-oriented Psychotherapy

The approach of Psychoanalytically-oriented Psychotherapy is very similar to the classical psychoanalysis, whereby the primary focus evolves mainly around the current states, circumstances and events in the life of a client. The setting usually consists of one-two sessions per week.
